Platform Role
BarterFlip is a marketplace platform, not a direct service provider. BarterFlip does not perform services, does not employ providers, does not guarantee service outcomes, and is not responsible for disputes between users. Users transact directly with each other at their own risk.
Credits & Tokens
Platform credits are internal tokens with no independent cash value. Credits are used exclusively within the BarterFlip ecosystem and cannot be exchanged for currency. Credits cannot be manipulated, duplicated, or gamed. Unused credits may expire after 12 months of account inactivity. BarterFlip reserves the right to adjust credit values, expiration policies, and platform fees at any time.
Platform Fees
BarterFlip charges a 10% platform fee on all completed transactions. This fee is automatically deducted from the seller's earnings. Additional fees, commissions, or transaction costs may be introduced and will be disclosed in advance. Users may not circumvent fees by taking transactions off-platform.
User Responsibilities
Users are responsible for: (1) Compliance with all applicable local, national, and international laws and regulations; (2) Obtaining proper licensing, permits, or certifications required for their services; (3) Reporting and paying all applicable taxes on income earned; (4) Providing accurate, truthful service descriptions; (5) Maintaining professional conduct in all interactions.
Prohibited Activities
Users may not: list or offer illegal services; engage in money laundering or financial fraud; submit fake, incentivized, or misleading reviews; harass, threaten, or discriminate against other users; use hate speech or offensive content; circumvent platform fees; create multiple accounts to abuse the system; engage in any activity that disrupts platform operations.
Identity & Verification
BarterFlip may require identity verification before users can offer or book certain services. Providing false identity information is grounds for immediate account termination.
Reviews & Ratings
Reviews must reflect genuine experiences from completed orders only. Fake, incentivized, or retaliatory reviews are prohibited. BarterFlip reserves the right to remove reviews that violate these policies.
Dispute Resolution
Disputes between users should first be attempted directly. Unresolved disputes may be escalated to BarterFlip for mediation. By using the platform, users agree to binding arbitration for all disputes with BarterFlip. Class action litigation is not permitted. Users waive their right to jury trial for platform-related disputes.
Account Suspension
BarterFlip may suspend or permanently ban accounts at its sole discretion for violations of these terms. Suspended accounts may forfeit accumulated credits. Users may appeal suspensions through the official support process.
Platform Governance
BarterFlip reserves the right to: modify these terms at any time; adjust search rankings and visibility algorithms; moderate or remove content; change credit policies and platform fees; update platform features and functionality. Continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of updated terms.
Liability Disclaimer
BarterFlip provides the platform "as is" without warranties of any kind. BarterFlip is not liable for: service quality or outcomes; user disputes or fraud; data loss; platform downtime; or any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Users indemnify BarterFlip against claims arising from their use of the platform.
Non-Circumvention
Users who discover other users through BarterFlip are prohibited from taking transactions off-platform to avoid fees for a period of 24 months following initial contact through the platform. Violations may result in account termination and legal action.
